About The Position

The Facilities Technician will play a crucial role in maintaining our facility's infrastructure to ensure smooth operations and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Additional $1.50 per hour shift differential for hours worked between 6PM-6AM. Must be flexible for overtime and weekend work.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in HVAC, electrical, or related fields preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Facilities Technician, Maintenance Technician, or similar role in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Solid understanding of HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read technical manuals and blueprints to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and learn new technologies as needed.
  • Ability to operate a computer to support and record documentation in our computer maintenance management system.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks on facility equipment and systems including HVAC, refrigeration, boilers, and production machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Conduct regular inspections of building systems and equipment to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency situations to support uninterrupted production schedules.
  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize disruption to production.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment manuals, and inventory.
  • Adhere to health and safety and GMP guidelines and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Assist in the implementation of facility improvement projects and upgrades.
  • Monitor energy consumption and implement energy-saving initiatives where possible.
  • Flexibility to work non-standard hours as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
