About The Position

The Facilities Technician is responsible for multiple property and geographic locations and overall physical and mechanical maintenance. They will ensure corrective, proactive, and preventative facility maintenance. The Technician will aid in diagnosing and troubleshooting facility issues to include, but not limited to: Plumbing, HVAC, Mechanical, Carpentry and Electrical systems.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of construction, maintenance, and building operations including building and safety codes, policies, regulations, procedures, and architectural design.
  • Knowledge of building management methods, principles, and practices.
  • Knowledge of crafts and trades used in operating and maintaining buildings.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with TO staff, contractors, and physicians and other outside vendors in a professional manner.
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate policies and operations and formulate recommendations.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with key contacts for assigned buildings.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple activities to ensure needs are met in an effective, cost-effective manner.
  • Skill in exercising independent judgment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present ideas clearly.
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical and organizational skills as well as the ability to complete multiple projects concurrently.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 3 Years’ experience in Facilities and/or Property Management
  • Position will require local travel within tri-state area; valid driver’s license required.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in Technical/Trade Programs preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule, prioritize and complete tickets and work orders as necessary.
  • Respond to and immediately coordinate plans of corrective action to rectify all maintenance related emergencies.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activity.
  • Perform regular inspections of grounds, buildings, plumbing, electrical fixtures.
  • Report property damage, equipment malfunctions and unusual activities as appropriate.
  • Identify and assist in root cause analysis of electrical and mechanical designs.
  • Prepare justification documentation and department Purchase Orders.
  • Utilize tools, materials, and equipment related to assigned area of responsibility and perform repairs.
  • Identify and fix potential safety hazards to avoid injury in multiple facilities.
  • Work and maintain positive relationships with contracted vendors.
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, manuals and documents.
  • Be able to work independently and in teams.
  • May be required to respond to outside normal business hour emergent task.
  • This role requires travel to various Middle Tennessee sites. The employee must maintain a valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation. Mileage reimbursement will be provided in accordance with established company guidelines.
