About The Position

The Technician 2 position typically demonstrates proficient and comprehensive knowledge of Dayton Children’s Hospital building systems such as but not limited to electrical, plumbing, HVAC in addition to numerous years of experience in the skill trades field. This position typically works independently under general supervision on challenging work assignments; confers with Technician 3 and Supervisor on unique or uncommon problems; shares knowledge and expertise in effort to further develop the skillsets of teammates; supports team decisions by following through with assigned responsibilities; interprets information, ideas and instructions; responsible for complying with a safety management program designed to provide a physical environment free of hazards and to reduce the risk of human injury according to established codes, policies and procedures. This position demonstrates a strong commitment to the hospital’s values; promotes a culture conductive to effective and inclusive relationships among team members; collaborates with vendors, contractors, and with all divisions/departments of the hospital.

Requirements

  • GED/High School diploma is required.
  • 8+ years of maintenance or construction experience is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree or Trade School degree.
  • 4+ years of DCH experience is preferred.
  • State of Ohio Registered Apprenticeship Program.
  • Fire protection license.
  • Medical gas ASSE 6040 or ASSE 6010 certificate.
  • Preferred experience in framing, hanging and finishing drywall, setting door frames, swinging doors, door hardware and installation of acoustical ceilings.
