About The Position

We are currently accepting applications for a Full-Time Facilities Tech I - Mechanical (40 hr/wk with on-call rotation required). RiverMead, a not-for-profit, full-service, LifeCare Community located in picturesque Peterborough, New Hampshire. Description: Performs repairs and maintenance duties in all buildings, including preventive maintenance and repairs to mechanical systems. Maintains grounds, performing seasonal duties as directed. Drives 12-passenger van as needed. Possesses specific skill set/experience that provides a wider area of expertise (i.e. carpentry, grounds, mechanical, painting, team leader, etc.).

Requirements

  • Must have general working knowledge of various electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems as well as general carpentry knowledge.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, memos, and instruction manuals.
  • Ability to complete basic math calculations accurately.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of appropriate skills for communicating with individuals of all ages, especially the geriatric population.
  • Valid NH driver’s license and clean driving record required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent and minimum three years related experience required.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, memos, and instruction manuals.
  • Ability to complete basic math calculations accurately.
  • CPR certification required (can be certified on site)
  • Valid NH driver’s license and clean driving record required.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate of technical school with minimum two years related experience preferred.
  • Pool/Spa maintenance certification suggested.

Responsibilities

  • In consultation with Assistant Director of Facilities, coordinates non-turnover related subcontract services.
  • Responsible for overall maintenance of vehicle fleet including regular, routine inspection, maintenance and small repairs.
  • Repairs and conducts preventative maintenance of all other motorized equipment.
  • Maintains accurate records of all equipment.
  • Performs weekly checks and maintains records of diesel generators.
  • Performs appliance/plumbing in apartment turnovers.
  • Responsible for general maintenance/repair of appliances.
