About The Position

Responsible for the administration, design, review, inspection, supervision, and coordination of facilities construction projects. Administers contracts; develops the scope of minor facility construction/renovation/major building system renewal, and replacement projects. Coordinates with user agencies to maintain continuity of operations; schedules and plans the work with other County Departments and Divisions; coordinates construction activities with engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure compliance with federal, state, County, and local government requirements. Estimates costs, conducts construction-related procurement, and reviews technical specifications and permitting. Monitors contract provisions; conducts site observations and closing out of projects.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification.
• Minimum of five (5) years of superintendent-level experience in vertical construction or with base-building system installations.
• Eight (8) years of experience with nonresidential construction or base-building system maintenance, repair and operations, engineering or architectural design, and/or with the construction field or construction administration.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with public or commercial building design or the construction field as an Architect, Engineer, Contractor, Inspector, or Facility/Construction Manager.
• Experience with governmental procurement processes.
• Bachelor's/Associate's Degree in Design or Construction Management or related field.
• Valid Design Professional Registration.
• Valid Contractor's License.
