About The Position

This opportunity resides with All-Domain Operations (ADO), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. All-Domain Operations comprises multi-domain operations, platforms and logistics, and intelligence operations. HII designs, develops, integrates and manages the sensors, systems and other assets necessary to support integrated ISR operations and accelerated decision-making. With data fusion and mission management capabilities for the Department of Defense, the combatant commands and the intelligence community, HII advances the mission around the globe. HII-Mission Technologies is seeking a Systems Engineer in our Virginia Beach, VA. location. This role will provide relocation assistance to the most qualified candidate chosen for this role if residing out of state. You also must have an active TS/SCI clearance for this role. Position reports to the Site OIC/Deputy OIC. The selected candidate will be part of the team responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and technical readiness of the program and facility equipment. Provides technical expertise in support of 24/7/365 watch-standing duties; manages all program systems, equipment, and components. Troubleshoot system outages; coordinate with various agencies to maximize circuit readiness and minimize downtime; notify senior program personnel when anomalies or outages occur; qualify on all applicable equipment; maintain the habitability of program spaces; conduct preventive maintenance as required; review and update Standard Operating Procedures as required; provides Critical Information Requirements (CIR) to the chain of command.

Requirements

  • 2 years of relevant experience with bachelor's in related field; 0 years experience with master's in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Must have a background in Electronic Maintenance, Information Systems or Telecommunication disciplines.
  • Experience with the management of electronic equipment for preventive and corrective maintenance, configuration, and calibration.
  • Experience in Safety Procedures when working with electronic equipment.
  • Ability to identify and correct emergent problems involving technical and/or facility-related equipment, systems, and components.
  • Experience following quality assurance steps/checks.
  • DoD Top-Secret/SCI eligible clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain base access credentials.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong background in communications; fiber optics; electrical/electronic components; generators; AC/DC and high/low voltage theory and application.
  • Thorough knowledge of the installation and maintenance of electrical/electronic components; working knowledge of Key Management Infrastructure.
  • Experience and operational knowledge of various Test Equipment.
  • Develop, review, and implementation of Policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Experience with Lifecycle Management of programs and various equipment.
  • Experience with Information Systems, Network Infrastructure, Troubleshooting, and Program Analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
  • Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
  • Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
  • Provides technical expertise for the installation, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of installed systems.
  • Performs duties as Power Control Station/ Power Safety Officer (PCO/PSO) oversees the conduct of routine and preventative maintenance.
  • Informs the chain of command of any substantive changes to routine system configuration or capability.
  • Drafts daily/monthly/weekly watch bills in support of operational requirements.
