About The Position

The Facilities Supervisor is responsible for the oversight, maintenance, safety, and operational readiness of all organizational facilities, grounds, and company vehicles. This position supervises Facilities Technician(s) and coordinates preventative maintenance, repairs, regulatory compliance, and facility improvement projects for multiple outpatient clinics and support buildings. The Facilities Supervisor ensures that all facilities operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards to support high-quality patient care and organizational operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years of facilities maintenance or building operations experience.
  • At least 1–2 years of supervisory or lead experience required.
  • Knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Understanding of workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to supervise staff and coordinate multiple maintenance projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize competing demands.
  • Effective communication and vendor coordination skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and perform physical maintenance tasks when necessary.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.
  • Ability to operate company vehicles.
  • Background check and any required clearances.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operation, maintenance, and repair of all clinic sites, administrative buildings, and support facilities.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, security systems, and fire safety systems.
  • Coordinate and perform routine inspections of facilities to ensure safety, functionality, and compliance.
  • Ensure timely resolution of facility maintenance issues and work orders.
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee facility improvement and renovation projects.
  • Supervise and provide direction to Facilities Technician(s).
  • Assign work orders, monitor performance, and ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.
  • Provide training and guidance on safety procedures, equipment use, and facility maintenance standards.
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, and evaluating facilities staff.
  • Manage maintenance, inspections, registration, and compliance for all company vehicles.
  • Maintain vehicle service schedules and ensure vehicles remain safe and operational.
  • Coordinate repairs and preventative maintenance with vendors or service providers.
  • Ensure facilities comply with applicable federal, tribal, environmental, and workplace safety regulations.
  • Maintain compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards, including workplace safety practices, hazard communication, and facility safety procedures.
  • Support the organization’s safety program by assisting with workplace hazard identification, corrective actions, and documentation.
  • Maintain documentation related to building inspections, safety compliance, and facility certifications.
  • Coordinate fire safety inspections, emergency systems testing, and safety drills as required.
  • Support regulatory readiness for healthcare compliance inspections and accreditation activities when applicable.
  • Ensure proper storage, labeling, and handling of medical gas cylinders.
  • Coordinate with licensed vendors for delivery, inspection, and storage of medical gas cylinders.
  • Maintain documentation and inspection records related to medical gas.
  • Oversee facility processes related to the safe storage, handling, and disposal of biohazardous and regulated medical waste.
  • Coordinate with licensed medical waste disposal vendors and ensure proper waste handling procedures are followed.
  • Ensure biohazard waste storage areas meet safety and regulatory standards.
  • Assist in maintaining policies and procedures related to biohazard safety and waste management.
  • Coordinate the ordering, tracking, and distribution of janitorial and facility maintenance supplies for all clinic and support sites.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels of cleaning products, paper goods, sanitation supplies, and other facility-related materials.
  • Monitor supply usage across locations and implement cost-effective purchasing practices.
  • Ensure cleaning and sanitation supplies meet safety and infection control standards.
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and service providers for facility maintenance and repairs.
  • Obtain bids and oversee contracted work to ensure quality and cost efficiency.
  • Monitor vendor performance and maintain service agreements.
  • Assist with the development and management of facilities maintenance budgets.
  • Track maintenance costs, equipment repairs, and facility improvement expenditures.
  • Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and facility supplies.
  • Participate in emergency preparedness planning and response related to facility operations.
  • Ensure buildings remain safe and functional during emergencies and coordinate repairs or restoration if needed.
  • Maintain facility maintenance records and documentation.
  • Support organizational sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives when applicable.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational operations.
