The Facilities Supervisor will be responsible for assuring the effective functioning of the facilities department to provide an efficient and safe, secure environment for employees, clients and contractors by using best business practices to manage resources, services and processes. Essential Functions Responsible for staff management in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; development and coaching of employees Manages major repairs to HVAC, electrical, and plumbing equipment by scheduling service calls, soliciting bids, and overseeing the completion of these projects Manages the work ticket and preventative maintenance program. Updates equipment and schedules, and provides documentation for audits as required Manages the HVAC controls system. Ensure the system operates at peak efficiency, and arrange for repairs and upgrades as needed Manages the scheduling and completion of inspections for life safety equipment including, but not limited to, fire alarm systems, fire sprinkler systems, fire extinguishers, and emergency generators Manages the completion of facilities department projects Provides ongoing training for facilities personnel on proper facilities practices and procedures Manages bio and solvent waste disposal processes Ensures adherence to OSHA and safety regulations and serves as safety officer for site Ability to be on call as needed

Requirements

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred in an applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in facilities leadership role
  • Experience with contract and vendor management
  • Knowledge of security systems and programs
  • Knowledge of building safety systems and codes
  • 4-5 years of related maintenance experience preferred
  • Valid driver's license
  • Computer proficiency skills with Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of maintenance, carpentry, painting, dry walling and electrical wiring
  • Knowledge of safety procedures
