About The Position

This class supervises facility construction and maintenance programs, including personnel, project work sequences, timelines, safety regulatory compliance, and public relations. This is a 'mandatory-testing' position that requires Drug Testing.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
  • At least six months of specialized or technical training beyond high school
  • At least five years of progressively responsible construction/maintenance experience, two years of which were in a crew leadership or supervisory role
  • Must possess a valid driver's license from state of residence

Responsibilities

  • Supervises staff by prioritizing and assigning work, conducting performance evaluations, ensuring staff are trained, ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures, maintaining a healthy and safe working environment, and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations
  • Coordinates the preventive maintenance and repair of applicable facilities
  • Prepares a variety of written correspondence, including building inspection reports, quality assurance inspections, cost estimates, project status reports, and/or other related items
  • Conducts building inspections of existing and newly acquired buildings, completed projects, and/or other related items
  • Monitors the progress of projects related to facilities and/or maintenance activities in order to address special concerns and monitor compliance with applicable plans and specifications
  • Prepares and administers budget, including capital budget items, by preparing cost estimates for budget recommendations, submitting justifications for budget items, and monitoring and controlling expenditures
  • Receives and reviews work orders, preliminary construction plans, and proposals to determine project feasibility; makes recommendations based on findings
  • Coordinates safety and training programs
  • Coordinates disaster preparation and recovery activities; updates applicable plans
  • Performs other duties as assigned
