About The Position

Responsible for maintaining, repairing, and ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of church buildings and grounds. This role supports worship services, ministry programs, and special events by providing welcoming, safe, and well-maintained environments for members, staff, and visitors.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent
  • Valid Class C driver’s license
  • Clean DMV record
  • Ability to lift and handle 75+ pounds, climb ladders, and perform manual labor
  • 2+ years of facilities maintenance or related experience preferred
  • Carpentry experience
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repair
  • Ability to operate maintenance tools and equipment safely
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Pass a background check

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections of church facilities and grounds.
  • Conduct minor repairs (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting).
  • Coordinate with external contractors or the Facilities Director for major repairs and maintenance.
  • Add/move/replace walls, doors, etc., as needed.
  • Monitor and maintain heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
  • Maintain lighting systems and replace bulbs as needed.
  • Maintain landscaping, lawn care, and irrigation systems.
  • Ensure parking lots, walkways, and outdoor areas are safe and clean.
  • Set up and tear down rooms for worship services, meetings, funerals, and special events.
  • Coordinate with the custodial contractor to ensure facilities are cleaned and reset after events.
  • Conduct safety checks and report hazards.
  • Maintain compliance with fire and safety codes.
  • Monitor maintenance supplies and equipment.
  • Contribute to the organization's continuous improvement.
  • Participate in annual evaluations.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned.
