About The Position

The Facilities Specialist maintains restaurants through preventative maintenance on all aspects of the restaurant. This role is crucial in ensuring that the facilities operate safely and efficiently, contributing to the overall mission of Chipotle to provide better food access to everyone.

Requirements

  • Possess a strong trade knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, commercial cooking equipment, appliance repair, and basic HVAC/refrigeration.
  • Knowledgeable of rules and regulations governing facilities safety requirements.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage and coordinate multiple schedules.
  • Effectively communicate and train facility maintenance and repair concepts.
  • Have a clean Motor Vehicle Report to travel between restaurants.
  • Have a B.A./B.S. in a related field or equivalent education and experience with two years of training on how to repair and maintain facilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with restaurant equipment, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, or appliance repair preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Facilities Manager by supervising facility aspects of restaurant management at the market level.
  • Performing facility maintenance and repair through monthly site visits and analysis of restaurants.
  • Formulating preventative maintenance schedules for the safe, efficient, and effective operation of restaurant facilities.
  • Carrying out set procedures to be followed in the event facilities cease functioning or present a threat to health and safety.
  • Training managers, crew, and other restaurant staff on how to manage, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair restaurant facilities.
  • Ensuring managers and staff are correctly following facility maintenance practices and procedures.
  • Conducting detailed facility maintenance and repair seminars.
  • Providing comprehensive maintenance visit recaps to the Operations Team and Regional Facility Manager.
  • Identifying specific issues contributing to higher maintenance costs and communicating these to relevant parties.
  • Providing guidance to restaurants on maintaining and updating facility records.
  • Performing equipment and building repairs regularly.
  • Performing new store turnover and inspections with the Contractor and Operations Team.
  • Serving as liaison between restaurants, landlords, contractors, and vendors.
  • Assisting Operations Team in investigating and determining whether to escalate facilities issues.
  • Serving as the facilities representative at operations management meetings.
  • Providing field support and communication to the Development Department.
  • Assisting with communicating contractor deficiencies on projects.
  • Completing other duties to advance a project or resolve a business issue.
