About The Position
This position is responsible for independently performing and completing projects related to a variety of crafts and trades, including Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical, Sheet Metal, Painting, and HVAC Shops to ensure a quality way of living for the people who live here. The duties include plumbing, electrical, power plant, and routine maintenance on HVAC equipment such as filters, belts, and cleaning coils. The position also maintains and repairs appliances such as dishwashers, refrigerators, washers, dryers, and any specialty equipment built and designed for people who live here to maintain a quality of life.
Requirements
- Five years of experience in building trades and/or mechanical system maintenance and repair work.
- Must be able to work in excessive heat and cold weather, climb ladders and stairs to access rooftops and basement areas, work in cramped and stooped positions and lift and carry objects the weigh in excess of 50 lb.
- Staff who operates a motor vehicle must possess a valid Kansas driver's license.
- Positions in this class require that at the time of appointment the selected candidate must pass a law enforcement security clearance in compliance with policies of the Department of Aging and Disability Services.
