About The Position

The Facilities Set-Up Coordinator supports the daily operations of campus facilities by delivering essential logistical and maintenance services across campus grounds, trades, equipment, and events. The ideal candidate is proactive and dependable, able to work both independently and collaboratively. A primary responsibility of this role is managing and coordinating the use, condition, and movement of movable assets?such as tables, chairs, banners, and office or classroom furniture?particularly in preparation for campus events and meetings. The role also includes hands-on work involving minor maintenance, delivery coordination, and inventory management to help maintain a safe, efficient, and well-organized campus environment. This is a full-time, 12-month, non-exempt position starting at $21.00-$22.00 per hour, depending on qualifications. During the academic year (mid-August through mid-May), the second shift is scheduled from 1:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Thursday through Saturday. Hours and days will vary during the summer break and as needed to support College events and programs during the academic year.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to kneel, bend, and safely lift or move furniture and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid Massachusetts driver's license required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed to support campus events, programs, and daily operations. Work hours may be adjusted as needed to support events and programs.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to follow through and complete tasks efficiently.
  • Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, basic Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Responsibilities

  • Provide setup, breakdown, and logistical support for events hosted by both internal departments and external organizations.
  • Report damaged, worn-out, or malfunctioning equipment and furnishings to Facilities Management for repair or replacement.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including the regular replacement of batteries in clocks, smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, and other campus equipment.
  • Receive, document, and inventory deliveries on behalf of various campus departments, as needed.
  • Manage the inventory, delivery, relocation, and condition of office and classroom furniture.
  • Operate and maintain laundry equipment used for cleaning and preparing table coverings and linens for campus events.
  • Assemble office furniture and chairs as requested.
  • Support additional Facilities-related tasks and special projects as assigned and/or required.
