About The Position

The Facilities Senior Electrical Engineer will focus on multiple projects in support of the electrical design and operational needs of the Research Center. This includes: ensuring safety and efficiency of operations across the organization, managing complex issues within functional areas of expertise, and involvement in long term planning. Role Summary/Purpose: The Facilities Senior Electrical Engineer will support the site operations of GE Research. Develop electrical design drawings using AutoCad Generate electrical equipment material lists for procurement Work with Project Managers, Researchers and other staff disciplines Provide direction to Electricians, Technicians and other trade labor Perform field work to validate construction drawings with as-built conditions Participate in developing on-site facility electrical requirements Maintain/Update plant electrical single line diagrams Manage multiple activities simultaneously Utilize NFPA, New York State Building Code and OSHA regulations Provide leadership and indirect oversight of other Engineers Lead program maintenance and upgrades for site electrical systems - such as high voltage, fire alarm, toxic gas monitoring, lighting or emergency/backup power Perform troubleshooting and analysis for equipment and/or systems

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with a minimum 10 years of experience in Electrical Engineering Design
  • US Citizenship is required
  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in Niskayuna, NY
  • Must be 18 years or older

Responsibilities
