Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Facility Leader to join our dynamic Facilities Management team. This critical role will be responsible for overseeing and executing a diverse portfolio of engineering projects, optimizing our facility's space utilization, and enhancing our work environment through thoughtful interior design initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver, an excellent communicator, and possess a strong blend of technical expertise in building systems, project management acumen, and an eye for functional aesthetics.

  • Lead the planning, execution, and close-out of all facility-related engineering projects (e.g., HVAC upgrades, electrical systems improvements, plumbing infrastructure, structural modifications, energy efficiency initiatives).
  • Develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules, ensuring adherence to timelines and financial targets.
  • Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, engineers, and internal stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Oversee permitting processes, inspections, and compliance with all relevant building codes and safety regulations.
  • Manage the selection, procurement, and installation of facility equipment and systems.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for all projects.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and progress reports.
  • Develop and implement strategic space utilization plans to maximize efficiency, flexibility, and employee comfort.
  • Conduct space audits and needs assessments, gathering requirements from various departments.
  • Manage seating assignments, moves, adds, and changes (MACs) efficiently, minimizing disruption to operations.
  • Utilize CAD software and/or CAFM systems to maintain accurate floor plans and space data.
  • Forecast future space requirements and propose solutions for growth or consolidation.
  • Develop and maintain standards for office layouts, furniture, and finishes.
  • Lead interior design projects, from concept development to final installation, creating functional, aesthetically pleasing, and productive workspaces.
  • Select and specify furniture, fixtures, equipment (FF&E), finishes, and materials, considering durability, sustainability, cost-effectiveness, and company brand.
  • Collaborate with employees and leadership to understand preferences and needs, translating them into practical design solutions.
  • Ensure designs comply with accessibility standards (e.g., ADA) and health and safety regulations.
  • Oversee the staging and setup of new spaces, ensuring a smooth transition for occupants.
  • Contribute to the overall look and feel of the facility, promoting a positive and professional work environment.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for internal customers regarding facility-related projects and space needs.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the facilities team and other departments.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with a wide range of vendors and service providers.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company policies.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental goals and objectives.
  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil), Architecture, Interior Design, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Preferred 5-7 years of progressive experience in facilities management, with a strong focus on project management and space planning.
  • Demonstrable experience managing complex engineering projects within commercial or corporate environments.
  • Proven experience in interior design, space planning, or workplace strategy,
  • Experience in vendor management, contract negotiation, and budget control.
  • Strong understanding of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire suppression).
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar CAD/BIM software for space planning and design.
  • Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations (OSHA), and accessibility standards (e.g., ADA).
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to develop and manage scope, budget, schedule, and resources.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated understanding of interior design principles, space planning, and ergonomics.
  • Ability to translate user needs and company culture into functional and aesthetically pleasing designs.
  • Familiarity with current trends in workplace design and sustainable building practices.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, vendors, and contractors.
  • Highly analytical with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing facility needs.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • A strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer service.
  • Ability to conduct frequent site walks and inspections, which may involve standing, walking, bending, climbing stairs, and occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs).
  • Ability to work in an office environment with prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.
  • Master's degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CFM, FMP, PMP, LEED AP, NCIDQ).
  • Experience with CAFM/IWMS systems is highly desirable.
