The Facilities, Pipeline, & Installations Intern will serve as an integral member of the Production team with responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following:

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree or have recently completed a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering or a closely related field
  • Basic understanding of natural gas systems or interest in the upstream/midstream energy sector
  • Ability to work safely in industrial field environments
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Visual Basic or similar coding language
  • Ability to read or willingness to learn basic engineering drawings (P&IDs, isometrics)
  • The successful candidate must be authorized to work in United States of America.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the oversight of daily operations of natural gas facilities, including compressor stations, dehydration units, meter sites, and pipeline systems
  • Collect, record, and analyze operational data including pressures, temperatures, and equipment readings
  • Perform pipeline hydraulic modeling and compression modeling with oversight and direction
  • Create maintenance program reports, import asset data, and audit databases
  • Participate in design reviews for new facilities
  • Assist with documentation required for DOT/PHMSA, EPA, and internal compliance processes
  • Participate in safety meetings, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and hazard recognition activities
  • Assist in updating drawings, site documentation, and asset records (e.g., P&IDs, GIS data, equipment logs)
  • Create presentation materials and reports for leadership
  • Comply with Seneca’s EHSQ policies, standards and procedures and demonstrate active and regular involvement in EHSQ programs
