About The Position

PECNA is looking to fill the position of Facilities Operations Tech - Level 4. As a key member of the facilities operations team, you will leverage your technical expertise to troubleshoot, repair, and enhance critical systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving, strong technical skills, and a commitment to excellence in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or 2 years of prior experience in functional area
  • Minimum of 3 years of related work experience.
  • Basic knowledge and work experience in Utility Generation and Distribution (e.g. steam, water, air), Mechanical (e.g. HVAC, piping/plumbing, pneumatic) or Electrical (e.g. low or medium voltage, instrumentation, controls) systems in an industrial manufacturing facility environment.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills and willingness to work on a team
  • Flexibility and a strong self-initiative are critical
  • Electrical Safety in the Workplace
  • Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English

Nice To Haves

  • Related Trade school/vocational graduate; 2 years of trade school or equivalent
  • 6+ years of related work experience.
  • Experience in mechanical engineering or construction management
  • Experience utilizing a scheduling software

  • PIT License

Responsibilities

  • Perform system rounds, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical and electrical systems under moderate supervision.
  • Act as First Responder for operational issues in manufacturing areas.
  • Assess and correct utility outages to maintain continuous operations.
  • Operate and maintain all relevant tools and equipment within the functional area.
  • Support identification and resolution of recurring equipment or system issues to enhance reliability and uptime.
  • Recommend improvements to operational processes and preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Assist in the evaluation of system performance data to optimize efficiency and operational effectiveness.
  • Train and mentor peers or lower-level personnel within the functional area.
  • Share technical knowledge, best practices, and standard procedures to improve team competency.
  • Support team development and ensure adherence to functional standards.
  • Maintain flexibility to work all scheduled shift hours as required.
  • Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and tenants to ensure compliance with PENA work rules.
  • Interface regularly with Engineering, Construction, and PECNA Tenants to coordinate operations and maintenance activities.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot, escalate, and resolve operational issues.
  • Maintain accurate equipment records, work orders, and CMMS documentation.
  • Draft, approve, and follow Maintenance Operating Procedures (MOPs) and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).
  • Adhere to company safety policies, regulatory standards, and industry requirements.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and compliant workspaces according to 6S standards.
