As a Facilities Operating Engineer at JLL, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems in commercial properties managed by JLL. This role is essential to maintaining optimal facility conditions for our clients while providing exceptional customer service. You'll leverage your technical expertise to solve complex mechanical issues, implement preventative maintenance programs, and support our commitment to sustainable building practices, directly contributing to JLL's reputation for excellence in property management.

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, and building automation systems
  • Respond to tenant service requests and emergency situations promptly, providing solutions that minimize disruption
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment according to established schedules
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues using appropriate diagnostic techniques
  • Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment readings in building management systems
  • Collaborate with facility management teams to implement energy conservation measures and sustainability initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and company policies
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical school training in mechanical, electrical, or facilities management preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial building operations or related field
  • Valid Universal EPA Certification for handling refrigerants
  • Boiler operator license grade 2 from a municipality or recognized professional institution, preferred
  • Universal Refrigerant Management certification, preferred
  • Working knowledge of building automation systems and preventative maintenance procedures
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, electrical systems, and plumbing
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • Ability to respond to after-hours emergency calls and work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or related field
  • Building Operator Certification (BOC) Level I or II
  • Experience with energy management systems and sustainable building practices
  • Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations
  • Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
  • Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication skills
  • Experience in commercial real estate or property management environments
