About The Position

As a Facilities Mechanic (Bargaining Unit, Local Union No. 25), you bring strong mechanical skill, careful attention to detail, and the steady judgment needed to keep facilities safe, functional, and reliable. You work efficiently under pressure, follow procedures with precision, and document your work clearly to support seamless operations. You stay calm and solutions focused during emergencies, communicate respectfully with others, and take initiative to spot and address issues before they disrupt the airport environment.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years’ demonstrated experience in commercial building maintenance and repair of plumbing and building finishes.
  • Experience and knowledge should include but not be limited to flushometers, toilets, sinks, restroom stalls and partitions, fire protection, automatic entrance doors, mechanical piping, wall finishes, painting, roofs, ceiling tiles, wall and floor tiles, etc.
  • Ability to read and understand as-built drawings, Operation and Maintenance Manuals.
  • Working knowledge of Lockout Tag Out procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine inspections and completes maintenance and repairs on plumbing systems, building finishes, doors, and structural components across terminals and related facilities.
  • Operates, maintains, and repairs power hand tools while keeping accurate daily reports, parts lists, and shop inventories organized and up to date.
  • Responds to emergencies in accordance with airport procedures and supports operational continuity by assisting with snow‑removal activities when required.
  • Reviews technical manuals and as‑built drawings to guide repair work and collaborates with other trades to maintain safe, functional, and reliable building systems.
