City of Hope is seeking an experienced Facilities Mechanic II (General Maintenance) with background in healthcare, commercial, and/or industrial settings. This Mechanic will service off-site clinic locations in LA County. The facilities department ensures systems are running smoothly to take care of our patients and staff. Install and repair equipment according to applicable building and safety codes. Provide assistance to other Engineering shops as necessary to complete work projects on schedule. Provide services normally performed by these Engineering Trades: HVAC, Refrigeration, Electrical, Plumbing, Preventive Maintenance, Carpentry, Locksmith, and Painting.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma. 4 additional years of experience plus the minimum experience requirement may substitute for minimum education (College or Trade school preferred).
  • 3 or more years crafts experience, which may include: carpentry, electricity, painting, automotive mechanics, maintenance rounds and record keeping.
  • Current CA driver's license and a good driving record
  • Certification or demonstrated proficiency in 2 or more of the following trades: carpentry, painting, automotive mechanics, and maintenance rounds. May include HVAC, electrical, autoclave, plumbing, locksmith, emergency response.
  • Excellent communications skills in working with clinical staff, leaders, and vendors.

Responsibilities
