Bednark Studio is seeking a high-energy, enthusiastic, self-motivated, and organized individual to take on the role of Facilities Manager at our main production facility located at 14 Flushing Avenue, Brooklyn, NY. The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure that the physical offices and facilities are operating in a manner consistent with a safe and healthy work environment. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in facilities management, be accustomed to working on their feet, and possess strong problem-solving skills to address issues as they arise. Additionally, the candidate should be tech-savvy enough to maintain digital maintenance logs and records. In this role, you will be required to interact daily with vendors and internal staff at all levels, coordinating and ensuring that organizational processes and procedures are followed. Professional integrity, trustworthiness, maturity, and the ability to handle confidential information are essential traits for success in this position. You will be responsible for overseeing general facilities maintenance and cleanliness, waste management systems, utility maintenance, HVAC maintenance, and compressed air system maintenance. You will also manage facility upgrade projects and property security, develop and uphold new systems for preventative maintenance, and conduct weekly facility audits. The Facilities Manager will supervise a team consisting of two Shop Porters, one Shop Technician, and one Shop Handyman. You will need to maintain flexibility in your work schedule to accommodate occasional weekend, early morning, and evening project completions. This position requires the ability to lift over 50lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in variable temperatures, both hot and cold. You will also be responsible for keeping an open line of communication with the Operations Manager and Facilities Team, ensuring that all maintenance-related tasks are recorded and completed in a timely manner, and preparing the facility for changing weather conditions.
