About The Position

The Manager of Facilities ensures the smooth operation and physical maintenance of all company facilities, building improvements and changes to building interiors to facilitate production and storage. This position is also responsible for ensuring organizational compliance with all federal, state, and local codes and laws pertaining to the scope of the role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in construction, warehousing or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years successful management experience.
  • Knowledge of construction and standard building practices, with the ability to resolve issues in a financially and operationally responsible manner.
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements and building codes.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, using correct language and grammar in a professional, diplomatic and tactful manner.
  • Ability to work on multiple priorities independently, meeting expectations within agreed upon deadlines, using project management tools as needed.
  • Ability and desire to learn the organization’s product and service lines, company branding and models to drive the strategic goals of the organization.
  • Ability to collaborate and make recommendations to leadership team and peers while developing strong partnerships in support of growing the business.

  • Experience with warehousing and distribution processes preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the Department in implementing a preventive and ongoing maintenance program to ensure effective operations of BHP facilities.
  • Utilizes construction and operational knowledge to coordinate maintenance and repairs to the physical branch locations and properties in support of safe working conditions and efficient operations.
  • Specifies and ensures safe and effective installation of fixtures, building improvements and storage racking; identifies and disposes of equipment in unsafe working conditions.
  • Serves as subject matter expert in facility design, standardizing the look and feel of facilities while ensuring effective and safe working conditions related to the layout where feasible.
  • Implements and enforces departmental policies to ensure compliance with safety, building, and fire codes; ensures compliance with appropriate federal, state, and local codes and laws pertaining to buildings and operations.
  • Works collaboratively with peers including finance, purchasing, operations and safety to jointly achieve company goals.
  • Researches and maintains industry knowledge to continually identify opportunities for process improvement, safety, and compliance.
  • Works with CFO and leasing companies to specify building requirements in support of lease renewals.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
