The Facilities Manager oversees the daily operations, maintenance, and strategic planning of building infrastructure and support services. This role ensures that all facilities are safe, efficient, and aligned with organizational goals. The manager supervises staff, coordinates vendors, and serves as the primary contact for facilities-related concerns. Reports to the Executive Director of Facilities & Support Services.

  • Manage HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Oversee preventative and demand maintenance programs.
  • Respond to service requests and ensure timely resolution.
  • Lead facilities-related projects including renovations, workstation installations, and office moves.
  • Allocate and manage space usage across buildings.
  • Administer building automation systems (e.g., Johnson Controls Metasys, Daikin BAS).
  • Maintain service request ticketing systems, lighting controls, and audiovisual systems.
  • Coordinate with security vendors and manage access control systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain documentation for compliance testing and reporting.
  • Supervise grounds maintenance including snow removal, lawn care, and garden upkeep.
  • Manage UICA vehicle fleet and recommend replacements.
  • Develop and manage facilities budgets.
  • Negotiate contracts with service providers and monitor vendor performance.
  • Coordinate facilities setup for events including furniture, AV, and custodial services.
  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant experience; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in facilities management software and building automation systems.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards.
  • Certified Facility Manager (CFM) - IFMA
  • OSHA Safety Certification
  • Building Automation System (BAS) training
