About The Position

Clay County Missouri's Facility Maintenance Office seeks a dynamic, passionate, innovative leader to serve as its Facility Manager. The Facility Manager is tasked with leading, planning, managing, supervising, and evaluating a comprehensive program designed to deliver efficiency while maximizing taxpayer dollars in the care of Clay County's buildings and grounds. This individual will include providing general supervision over professional and technical staff, establishing staff priorities then allocating personnel resources, and maintaining the integrity of the county's buildings and grounds ensuring preventive, corrective and emergency work on a wide variety of structures and systems is completed timely.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with construction methods and materials.
  • Knowledge of building codes and statutory law.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Ability to interpret plans and specifications for construction projects.
  • Strong analytical skills to analyze issues.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret and apply rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Ability to handle detailed and stressful situations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, plan, manage, supervise, and evaluate the facility maintenance program.
  • Provide general supervision over professional and technical staff.
  • Establish staff priorities and allocate personnel resources.
  • Maintain the integrity of the county's buildings and grounds.
  • Ensure preventive, corrective, and emergency work is completed timely.

  • Annual salary of $85,000 - $90,000, DOE.
