About The Position

This is a supervisory position with secondary responsibilities for administrative, financial management, records management, development of policy and procedure, development and implementation of program standards, and evaluation of program accomplishments. The incumbent will assist in the supervision of the administrative staff and work cooperatively with all staff supervisor to make task assignments. Work requires frequent interaction with other tribal staff and community members.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in business administration, accounting or related field.
  • Three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative experience. At least one (1) year of supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of facility maintenance and repair, including specialized course work and/or training.
  • Proficient with computer software programs including Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in written format.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and must meet driver’s eligibility guidelines.
  • All applicants will comply with 45 CFR 1301, Subpart D, Section 1301.31, C and D, which require all prospective employees to sign a declaration prior to employment regarding all arrests and convictions of child abuse or violent felonies and to comply with PL 101-630 and PL 101-637 regarding criminal records check.
  • Must possess the ability to read, write, and speak the English language fluently.
  • Must be able to continually and effectively employ professional verbal and written communications skills.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates the Winnebago Tribe’s core mission, vision, and values.
  • Assist facilities manager with contracts, grants and tribal appropriations. Prepare information required to re-contacting actions and tribal appropriations requests.
  • Assist with supervision of administrative staff and assist maintenance staff supervisor when necessary and in their absences.
  • Assist in the tracking, reporting and reconciling of financial information to ensure accuracy and integrity. Ensure all funds are being used in accordance with program goals and objectives.
  • Work with maintenance staff supervisor to develop, implement and monitor work order system.
  • Prepare bid specifications for small repair projects or maintenance services and solicit and evaluate bids and recommend contractors. Prepare contract documents, maintain payment and performance information, submit invoices and purchase orders for payment, and close out contracts when work is completed.
  • Assist with development and implement a process for ordering and managing department supplies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
