About The Position

The Facilities Manager 1 within the Clinical Engineering Department provides strategic and operational leadership for the lifecycle management of medical equipment across the UC Davis Health System. This role oversees the planning, procurement, and deployment of both capital and non-capital equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements. The Facilities Manager partners with clinical and administrative departments as well as external vendors to support patient care through reliable equipment availability and performance. By driving process improvements, optimizing vendor relationships, and strengthening cross-departmental collaboration, this leader plays a critical role in advancing efficiency, innovation, and the overall quality of healthcare delivery.

Requirements

  • Valid California driver's license and a driving record in accordance with local policies/procedures
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant fields and/or equivalent combination of education, training, and professional experience
  • 3 years' experience in managing or supervising personnel
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in managing shipping and receiving functions
  • Procurement experience with capital/non-capital equipment
  • Excellent communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Awareness of inventory control and vendor management processes
  • Awareness of shipping and receiving functions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Lawson programs on a PC
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex logistics in a healthcare environment
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Proven track record of leading process improvement initiatives
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements for medical equipment and recalls
