About The Position
Meadow Lake Resort is seeking a knowledgeable and energetic Maintenance/Handyman to operate the resort. This position is crucial in the Engineering Department, ensuring that all hotel and resort structures, furnishings, and equipment are optimally functional and aesthetically pleasing. The Maintenance/Handyman will maintain an ongoing maintenance operation for the hotel, which includes refrigeration, heating, plumbing, water treatment, preventive maintenance, guest rooms, HVAC units, ice machines, lighting, kitchen equipment, emergency generators, switch rooms, and electrical substations. The role requires performing work within departmental expense plans and interpreting specifications, job orders, and company policies to staff members while enforcing safety regulations. The Maintenance/Handyman will establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules and recommend measures to improve production. This position also involves assisting staff members in solving work problems and performing a full preventative maintenance plan for the building and all physical assets to maximize their life expectancy. Close collaboration with the Chief Engineer is essential to ensure coordination of activities. Practicing safe work habits and ensuring safe work practices to avoid injury to oneself and others is a critical aspect of this role. The Maintenance/Handyman will communicate performance expectations and provide staff members with ongoing feedback, ensuring familiarity with all company policies and benefits.
