About The Position
The Facilities Maintenance Worker II position at the City of Oldsmar involves performing a variety of skilled tasks related to the construction, maintenance, and repair of city properties and facilities. This role is essential for ensuring that all city facilities are in good working order and meet safety standards. The work is performed under the general supervision of the Facilities Supervisor, who provides guidance and oversight to ensure that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. In this role, the Facilities Maintenance Worker II will engage in various skilled trades, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and HVAC maintenance. Responsibilities include the repair and installation of plumbing equipment, which may involve working with PVC, galvanized, and copper lines. The worker will also be responsible for assembling and installing shelving, cabinets, walls, and office furniture, as well as performing painting and power washing tasks to maintain the appearance of city facilities. Additionally, the position requires the setup and breakdown of events and meetings, ensuring that all necessary equipment and facilities are prepared for use. Custodial services for city facilities are also part of the job, which includes cleaning and maintaining the interior and exterior of buildings to provide a safe and welcoming environment for the public and city employees.
