About The Position

The Facilities Maintenance Worker I is responsible for performing custodial and special assignment functions to support City Buildings. This entry-level position involves maintaining cleanliness in various areas including lobbies, meeting rooms, offices, and restrooms, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for all building users.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and compounds.
• Skill in the operation of commercial floor cleaning equipment.
• Experience in a similar position for one to two years.

Responsibilities

• Perform custodial duties in lobby areas, walking halls, meeting rooms, offices, and restrooms.
• Vacuum and shampoo carpets, sweep, mop, scrub, and wax floors.
• Wash windows, dust hard-to-reach areas, and empty trash cans.
• Clean toilets, sink basins, counters, mirrors, and faucets.
• Sweep parking lots and exterior walkways, and clean exterior areas as needed.
• Maintain inventory of all supplies required for custodial duties.
• Move custodial items and other miscellaneous items as needed.
• Continuously improve operations and work processes to enhance customer service.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
