About The Position

SUMMARY: Primary focus is on learning the Facility maintenance trade through assignments and formal learning focus on developing maintenance skills and abilities. This is a technical role that will require skills in multiple disciplines listed below to support the Andersen Window and Door Business.

Requirements

• First semester completed in a maintenance discipline.
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Basic knowledge of print reading
• Understand mechanical fastener type
• Must be able to stand for 8 hours
• Must be able to occasionally lift 50 lbs.
• Some heavy lifting required at low frequency.
• Equipment is provided to move/manipulate heavy components
• Outside work required

Nice To Haves

• Welding skills
• Basic HVAC knowledge
• Basic plumbing knowledge
• AC/DC Theory
• Ability to read a multimeter

Responsibilities

• Strong focus on customer service
• Understand safety rules and procedures to safely perform all tasks
• Know and practice respectful workplace behavior
• Assist Groundskeeping crew to improve and maintain the properties including fertilization, pruning, weed control, irrigation, mowing, trimming, raking, clean-up, repairs, trash removal, etc.
• Support preventive maintenance efforts of HVAC equipment including cleaning and filter changes
• Assist current Facilities team members in the troubleshooting and maintenance of the entire plant utilities, (electrical, water, humidity, sprinkler, steam, compressed air, chilled water, waste water, HVAC, dust collection, elevator/reciprocating, environmental, etc
