About The Position

Performs Maintenance duties including trash removal, snow removal (by hand shoveling, and with machine operation assistance), performs routine maintenance services, light janitorial maintenance, general cleanliness and upkeep of interior and exterior of all three property buildings (HMR, WSC, HHDM, & TI), and off-site employee housing.

Requirements

  • Have excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and courtesy.
  • Must be a self-starter and be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Personal tools for work required.
  • Literate and fluent in English.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions, area, circumference, and volume to practical situations.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in oral, mathematical, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or 1-3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Regularly required to stand, sit, and walk; talk and hear; taste and smell; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to lift/move 50 lbs. or more and occasionally lift/move more than 100 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • skiing or snowboarding ability desirable
  • Experience driving over-the-snow vehicles such as snowmobiles is highly desirable.
  • Additional language(s) desirable.
  • Valid Class C Driver License with a driving record meeting the minimum standards required by Homewood’s insurance carrier desirable.
  • Prior ski resort or hospitality experience desirable.

  • Assists in all maintenance of building facilities; including but not limited to routine maintenance services, snow removal, light janitorial services, carpentry, plumbing, and other various tasks as assigned.
  • Assists in painting and performing minor repairs to masonry, woodwork, and furnishings of buildings.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists in solving work problems.
  • Maintain and repair portable toilets.
  • Empties wastebaskets and transports trash and waste to disposal area.
  • Assists in transportation of small equipment or tools between departments.
  • Communicates concerning needs for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment to Building Maintenance management.
  • Snow removal as required, using safe snow shoveling and ice abatement techniques.
  • Also using ice chippers and Honda snowblowers.
  • This includes possessing the ability or learning the safe and efficient operations of our Cat Skid Steer snow blower
