About The Position

The Facilities Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in ensuring our church campus is clean, safe, well-maintained, and ready to welcome our congregation and community. This full-time team member will work alongside a fellow Facilities Maintenance Technician and collaborate with ministry volunteer teams to maintain an environment of excellence. This position reports directly to the Director of Administrative Services.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including climbing ladders, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods
  • Demonstrated reliability, strong work ethic, and a spirit of excellence in previous roles
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including Saturdays and Sundays as needed
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and volunteers
  • A heart for ministry and an understanding that facility stewardship is an act of service to God and the church community

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in facilities maintenance, custodial work, or a related field
  • Carpentry, woodworking, or painting experience
  • Experience working in a church or nonprofit environment

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of all church facilities, including worship spaces, offices, restrooms, classrooms, and common areas
  • Set up and break down rooms and spaces for worship services, events, meetings, fellowship gatherings, and special functions
  • Coordinate vehicle maintenance schedules for church-owned vehicles, ensuring safe and reliable transportation
  • Coordinate grounds maintenance efforts including landscaping, parking lot upkeep, and seasonal outdoor tasks
  • Complete painting, touch-ups, and minor cosmetic repairs as needed throughout the facility
  • Perform general maintenance tasks such as minor plumbing and carpentry repairs
  • Collaborate with ministry volunteer teams to plan, delegate, and execute facility-related projects
  • Conduct regular facility inspections to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns proactively
  • Maintain organized on site and off site storage areas and manage inventory of cleaning supplies, tools, and maintenance equipment
  • Respond promptly to urgent maintenance needs and support leadership with facility-related requests
  • Work scheduled Saturday and Sunday shifts to ensure campus readiness for worship and weekend activities
