About The Position

The maintenance technician performs a variety of maintenance & property operational duties for the facilities department of a retail shopping center. Reports directly to the Facilities Director. Maintenance technician is guided by a general knowledge of building trades, carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems and the use of tools and basic maintenance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum three years of fulltime experience working within Facilities Operations and maintenance.
  • Experience working in a retail shopping center.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with management, staff, vendors, tenants, government officials, and the public.
  • Effective written and verbal English communication skills a must and strong customer service.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Work authorization, United States, (Required)
  • Required to pass a background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong electrical skills a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Experienced and knowledgeable in plumbing, electrical, lighting, drywall repair, stucco repair, flooring, painting, various man lifts, power tools and troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of methods, practices and materials in building maintenance and renovations. Ability to work independently and troubleshoot to solve problems.
  • Have working knowledge of pressure washers and landscaping equipment.
  • Complete work orders as assigned by the Facilities Director
  • Clean, lubricate, perform simple repairs and maintenance of HVAC equipment.
  • Assist with hurricane preparation of property.
  • Ability to perform monthly fire pump testing and generator testing.
  • Change light bulbs, outlets, wall switches, wiring of 120/277v ballast and lighting fixture emergency ballast, Strong electrical skills a plus.
  • Ensure OSHA standards are met at all times.
  • Maintain a safe working environment, Report any safety concerns/issues with the Facilities Director. Ensure the proper care, maintenance and inventory of all property tools and equipment.
  • Maintains logs, performs rounds, completes P.M. work orders, test, and inspections.
  • Other duties as may be assigned by the Facilities Director.
  • Minimize liability concerns and ensure excellent appeal to the property.
  • Work rotating Saturdays.
  • Ability to be certified on boom lifts and scissor lifts.
  • Maintain the required grooming and company uniform and ensure a professional appearance.
  • Available to work special event weekends or evening events.
