About The Position

Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C., is hiring a Facilities Maintenance Technician in Baltimore, Maryland. This role is responsible for providing the highest level of service and maintenance to assigned facilities to ensure utilities and equipment are in optimum operating condition.

Requirements

  • Minimum four years' related experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • High mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to troubleshoot
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent driving record
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work additional hours to meet demands
  • Ability to meet physical requirements including frequently sitting for extended periods of time
  • Ability to regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 70 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Nice To Haves

  • Professional electrician’s license
  • HVAC trade certification

Responsibilities

  • Provide the highest level of service and maintenance to assigned facilities in order to keep utilities and equipment in optimum operating condition
  • Positively interact with supervisor and understand problems and concerns relating to a repair
  • Promote a positive customer experience

  • Occasionally operate heavy machinery in a safe manner
  • Perform mechanical repairs of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and carpentry
