About The Position

GE Aerospace operations have been part of the Beavercreek community for over 70 years. Our Beavercreek facility manufactures gas turbine tubes, ducts, and manifolds, and also has complex machining, fabrication and investment casting capabilities. Product engineering, new product development and testing is performed on site. This facility also does repair and overhaul of tubes, ducts, and manifolds. We have been awarded OSHAS’s highest safety rating. The role involves conducting preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment such as induction vacuum furnaces, electric furnaces and natural gas kilns, steam autoclaves, leaching autoclaves, robotic shell line operation, mixers, injection machines and cure ovens. It also includes repairing and maintaining mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic components of production machines and equipment, following technical specifications using hand tools, power tools, or precision measuring instruments. The technician will maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems and components, perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance of plant HVAC, chillers and rooftop units, and study building plans, schematics and working drawings to determine work aids required and sequence of repairs and/or installations. Other duties include supporting cell moves, in-house rigging efforts and building projects, ordering and tracking material required for repairs, operating material handling equipment such as forklifts, scissor, boom, and manlifts, and complying with LOTO and other safety regulations. The ideal candidate is willing to learn, coachable, able to keep the team informed of work progress, timelines, and issues, experienced in reading technical manuals, able to develop statements of work, work alone with little direction or supervision, be a team player in resolving complex corrective maintenance, have strong attention to detail, provide customer service to co-workers, internal customers, contractors, OEM representatives, and technicians, and be punctual and on-time. Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Two years prior experience in various maintenance disciplines
  • Willingness to learn and be coachable
  • Ability to keep team informed of work progress, timelines, and issues
  • Experience reading technical manuals
  • Able to read and interpret technical manuals
  • Ability to work alone with little direction or supervision
  • Team player in resolving complex corrective maintenance

  • Stays punctual and on-time in regard to attendance and required meetings
  • Ability to work OT as needed and must be available for emergency on call list

Nice To Haves

  • Intermediate knowledge of electrical work in compliance with NEC
  • Maintenance and/or Electrical Certifications
  • HMI and PLC experience
  • Ability to troubleshoot controllers (Allen Bradley and Rockwell PLC’s)
  • Proficient navigating PC and mobile phone
  • Prior team and leadership experience
  • Ability to read and understand electrical control schematics
  • Install or repair electrical service
  • Ability to repair mechanical equipment, especially vacuum systems and automated equipment, etc.

Responsibilities
