About The Position

Under general supervision from the Facilities Manager, performs specialized maintenance and repairs of city buildings and infrastructure, including basic carpentry, mechanical, safety compliance, painting, and landscaping work and assisting with project planning and execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• Five (5) years of related work experience
• Or equivalent training, education, and/or experience; and
• Valid Driver's License
• Knowledge of City policies and procedures
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Skill in planning, developing, and implementing facilities maintenance programs
• Skill in managing staff
• Skill in communicating effectively both orally and in writing
• Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with contractors and external parties
• Ability to work flexible hours, including some nights and weekends
• Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with City administration, other employees, and the general public.

Responsibilities

• Performs restoration, renovation, and maintenance work in designated skilled trades to include all aspects of general carpentry, sheetrock, painting, air conditioning, minor electrical and plumbing
• Assists in scheduling and conducting preventative maintenance on City building equipment
• Performs other assigned duties.
