This position maintains and repairs city facilities, structures, equipment and grounds or landscaping. Performs carpentry, masonry, painting, plumbing, HVAC & Refrigeration, and/or other technical work. Coordinates work with outside contractors and vendors. Purchases supplies and materials and monitors expenses and budgets. Duties include, but are not limited to the following Maintains and repairs city facilities, grounds and landscaping, equipment and structures. Performs installation and preventative maintenance of commercial refrigeration, including chillers, boilers, cooling towers, air handlers, and pumps. Maintains, installs and repairs access and entry control points for the city, to include electric doors and hardware. Creates and maintains key bitting lists and structures for city facilities and departments. Maintains, repairs and installs plumbing systems for city facilities to include toilets, urinals, faucets, drinking fountains, shut-off valves, etc. Performs rough and finish carpentry. Repairs, replaces and installs drywall, carpet, ceiling tiles, glass, and other building components. Repairs masonry to include concrete, brick, block and stucco. Paints, stains, and varnishes various surfaces. Coordinates and schedules work and projects with outside contractors and vendors. May perform responsibilities of a similar nature and level as assigned.
