The Facilities Maintenance Technician position at Sumeru INC in Salt Lake City, UT, is a contract role focused on the maintenance and operation of a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. The technician will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment and systems are functioning optimally and in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. This role requires a proactive approach to maintenance, including conducting regular inspections and performing preventative maintenance on facilities, equipment, and systems. The technician will maintain logs and records to support the operation and maintenance of critical systems, ensuring effective operation and compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). The technician will operate and maintain the central utilities plant, which includes high-pressure steam systems, water boilers, centrifugal chillers, pumping systems, large cooling towers, air handling units, air compressors, purified water systems, and wastewater treatment systems. Additionally, the technician will be responsible for maintaining the buildings and grounds, ensuring they are kept in optimal condition. This role also involves responding to service calls during and after regular working hours, troubleshooting and completing in-house repairs, and coordinating outside contractor support as necessary. The technician will be expected to work during scheduled plant shutdown days to ensure all maintenance tasks are completed efficiently. Candidates for this position should have at least one year of experience in a relevant maintenance role within a large industrial, production, or manufacturing environment, with a strong preference for experience in pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, or food processing industries. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with a strong preference for candidates with three years of facility maintenance and/or construction experience in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systems is also preferred, along with the ability to secure necessary certifications such as Boiler Operator (High Pressure) certification and/or electrical licenses.
