About The Position

The Facilities Maintenance Technician works under minimal supervision to safely perform inspection, repair, and preventive maintenance of various facilities items in an aviation environment. Candidate is highly skilled in the mechanical field, familiar with safety practices and understands the importance of maintaining equipment in peak operational condition.

Requirements

  • High School education or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of three years' recent applicable related experience.
  • Proven work experience as a Facilities Maintenance Mechanic.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and schematics.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Must hold and maintain a valid state driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents as well as communicate effectively with other maintenance and support personnel at all levels regarding job related issues.
  • US Citizen Required - this position is located at a facility that requires special access.
  • Able to comply with DOT/FAA Drug and Alcohol Testing Program.
  • Able to climb and work on step stools and/or ladders.
  • May be required to move or lift 25 - 50 pounds.
  • Able to reach overhead.
  • Able to work in a non-dust-free environment.
  • Normal or corrected vision (required to perform exacting tasks).
  • Full range of motion with both hands.
  • Able to work in a stooping, kneeling or standing position and in cramped areas.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the aviation industry preferred however other industry related experience will be considered.
  • Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is a plus.
  • Certification in electrical, mechanical, plumbing and/or HVAC desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Performs ongoing facility maintenance and completion repairs on equipment.
  • Maintaining the integrity of the facility, conducting routine and scheduled maintenance tasks, and addressing unexpected breakdowns and damages.
  • Inspecting, testing, and repairing systems such as plumbing, electrical, heating, and air conditioning.
  • Repairing office furniture, replacing light fixtures, and maintaining air conditioning and heating systems.
  • Ensuring that facilities meet safety, health, and operational needs and standards.
  • Point of contact and coordinator for outside contractor support.
  • Other duties as assigned.
