About The Position

The function of a Facilities Maintenance Technician is to perform maintenance duties such as building, equipment, and forklift inspections. Is knowledgeable in the procedures and safety measures in area(s) of specialty. The Facilities Maintenance has some material handler abilities in role. Requirements Key Responsibilities and Duties: Inspect equipment and facilities to identify maintenance needs Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, tools, and facility areas Report all Safety and emergency issues Provide service to the Warehouse Operations by answering questions, providing information, and making referrals and assuring appropriate follow-through and/or resolutions HVAC knowledge: filter changes, basic diagnostics, understanding of thermostat and system components. Electrical systems basics, such as troubleshooting outlets, circuits, lighting, and breakers. Communicate with managers, supervisors, co-workers, and others while maintaining confidentiality Perform related duties as to specific assignments Additional tasks as assigned Abilities: Attention to detail Take ownership of assigned task and complete in a timely manner Integrity Demonstrate ability to interact well with others and follow instructions Flexibility and ability to adjust to sudden changes in operational goals Ability to read and write, comprehend basic checklists, forms or other documents Understanding of good documentation practices Ability to follow oral and written directions Ability to read blueprints and equipment manuals. Must be able to stand, walk, use hands to handle objects, or reach with hands and arms, climb ladders, kneel, crouch Must be able to lift and move items up to 50 lbs. unassisted while using safe lifting techniques Qualifications & Skills needed: High school diploma or equivalent Math ability, able to count and calculate Computer skills a plus Intermediate to advanced understanding of tools and equipment used in building maintenance, reconstruction, and repair work. Must have experience on Stand-up, Cherry picker, sit down, and/or pallet rider equipment May need to use light power tools Mechanical systems knowledge (pumps, belts, motors, equipment maintenance).
