About The Position

This position is responsible for keeping Frederick, MD facilities operating; perform a wide range of repair tasks around a facility. Able to troubleshoot and repair most mechanical systems or have a comparable understanding. Assist with ground maintenance including seasonal activities such as plowing, shoveling, salting. Monitor water systems and boiler operations Preventive Maintenance of buildings and facilities Installation and/or modification of new and existing equipment Maintain critical spare parts list inventory and assist with ordering. Process work orders Assist in waste treatment facility operations Lagoon operations according to the SOP established Computer experience doing work requests, email, and vendor contacts Maintain communication with the Maintenance Supervisor for status of work requests and facilities Shower into barrier facilities as needed to address maintenance needs. Be available to respond to emergencies or calls while on-call; come on site to address issues. Requirements

  • 2+ yrs of experience in maintenance and/or mechanical repair OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must be mechanically inclined
  • Must have valid Driver’s license
  • Participation in immunization / occupational medical surveillance program
  • Must be able to work weekends, be on call during evenings (on rotation)
  • Must be willing to work overtime
  • Must be self-motivated and results driven
  • Ability to shower into bio-secure facilities
  • Able to wear PPE such as mask, gloves, uniforms, bouffant cap

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational training certification preferred
  • Mechanical, electrical, HVAC and/or plumbing experience preferred
  • Tow motor, skid loader, forklift certificate and/or training referred
  • Experience with Wastewater treatment plant a plus!
