About The Position

San Diego Humane Society is hiring a Full-Time Facilities Maintenance Technician for our San Diego Campus! You’ll perform skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of facilities, equipment, and furnishings. Requirements

  • Requires High school diploma or equivalent, and a minimum of three (3) years of full-time related experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience working in a maintenance related capacity required.
  • Experience working with heating, air-conditioning, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and/or related building trades required.
  • Knowledge and proper use of hand and power tools related to job functions required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be approved by SDHS insurance carrier to drive a company or personal vehicle for work purposes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance throughout the facility and on the equipment.
  • Maintain, install, and repair plumbing systems throughout the facility. Janitorial work as needed. Respond to maintenance emergencies.
  • Inspect building, facilities, and equipment to ascertain needed repairs, make or recommend repairs or alterations as needed.
  • Arrange for service with HVAC, plumbing, electrical and other vendor specialties when appropriate
  • Willingly assist the public and other staff in all shelter programs and special events.
