About The Position

Grace Adventures is a religious organization that makes employment decisions on Bible-based beliefs and practices. Because of the nature of our Christian program; Christian belief, character, and practice are essential requirements of employment positions. Summary Of Position: To fulfill the overall ministry of Grace Adventures and cast vision to others. This position will be part of the Facilities and Maintenance Team that demonstrates world-class excellence through their care of the campuses of the ministry. This includes helping maintain: buildings, grounds, activity sites, vehicles and equipment maintenance, snow removal, boats, roads and parking lots, septic and well. General Responsibilities: A working knowledge in the following areas: plumbing, electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, fleet maintenance, equipment operation, drywall, painting, grounds maintenance, and irrigation. Knowledge of and desire to plan and execute preventative maintenance. Ability to plan for and direct volunteers and staff.

Requirements

A working knowledge in the following areas: plumbing, electrical, heating, refrigeration, mechanical equipment, vehicles, construction equipment and operation
Knowledge of and desire to manage preventive maintenance
Ability to plan for and direct volunteer workers
A supportive attitude to the needs of staff, campers and goals of the organization
A testimony and lifestyle that gives evidence of a true experience of salvation by grace in Jesus Christ
High school diploma or equivalent and 5+ years experience in related field.
An attitude of excellence in workmanship.
A supportive attitude to the needs of staff, guests, and goals of the organization.
A desire to learn and develop new skills and knowledge.
Be flexible to change as the greater need of the ministry and fulfillment of the mission statement requires.
Have a physical ability to travel and implement various physical work-related activities over 378 acres encompassing 3 separate campuses in Mears and an additional 141 acre campus near White Cloud, MI.
At times lifting and carrying is part of the job.
Maintain a valid driver’s license and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

This position will actively recruit volunteers
Coordinate approved maintenance projects with Sites and Facilities Director
Serve or assist wherever needed and other duties assigned
Keep the Sites and Facilities Director informed about your areas of responsibility
Committed to being the best stewards we can be of what God has entrusted to us, whether new or old, by turning off unnecessary lights, turning down heat, keeping doors closed, limiting trips to town and the treatment of tools and equipment
Responsible for maintaining records on sites, facilities and vehicles
This position will implement the ministry plan by providing sites and facilities that are clean, safe and in proper repair.
Have the ability to work with people in a positive, servant-minded attitude.
Work with all staff to provide a safe environment for children and families
Work with a heart of joy, trying to be more Christ-like every day
Serve our volunteers in such a way that makes their time here enjoyable and useful as they serve Grace Adventures.
Return all tools and equipment to its proper place after each job
Tools and equipment needing repair are promptly taken care of
Daily supplies are kept stocked: nails, screws, paint supplies, toilet repair parts, saw blades, sandpaper, etc.
