Facilities Maintenance Specialist I Location: On-site, Portsmouth, NH. The Facilities Maintenance Specialist I acts as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in relevant DCS (Digital Control Systems) to ensure quality compliance while working with site engineering to remediate reactive issues Collaborate with project team members, Maintenance Leadership & Engineering to improve future state of process operation at Lonza Portsmouth. Works directly with engineering associates to solve complex diagnostic repairs and major system changes. Collaborates with site CAPEX, engineering and other departments to drive open projects to completion, including all associated documentation. Access to our full list of global benefits: https://www.lonza.com/careers/benefits What you will do: Serve as the Subject Matter Expert SME to conduct, attend, and lead root cause investigations for equipment failures and breakdowns. Partner with Engineering and Quality Management to improve processes, run diagnostics, and align with site objectives. Own and update operational documentation, ensuring proper recording of failures, deviation initiations, and investigations within Trackwise. Contribute to the development and optimization of new and existing system Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to document and track assigned maintenance activities. Perform all work in compliance with GMP guidelines and safety standards, including LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) package reviews. Act as department SME for audits and serve as a technical trainer to improve team qualifications and experience. What we are looking for: High school diploma or equivalent is required. 5+ years of prior experience in a biotech, pharmaceutical, life science, or other GMP experience is highly preferred. Prior maintenance experience in a large manufacturing, industrial, or power plant is preferred. Can utilize troubleshooting/hand tools and can read complex mechanical, piping and equipment drawings. Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite, DMS, and SAP are required. The ability to comprehend and apply Standard Operating Procedures on a continual basis in all facets of the job. Strong interpersonal skills, ability to inflluence others’ decisions through the use of previous maintenance experience examples and lessons learned.
