About The Position

Perform work required for maintenance, installation, and modernization of mechanical and plumbing systems for buildings, equipment and grounds.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Knowledge of the plumbing trade
• Knowledge of UHP wet chemical, gasses and water systems
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Climb ladders, work on roofs, in confined/constricted spaces and in a cleanroom environment
• Use initiative and ingenuity to analyze situations and make technical decisions based on specifications and plumbing codes
• Ability to sustain considerable physical effort at frequent intervals. Heavy lifting is required
• Subject to “call back“ in emergencies and scheduled overtime may be required during busy periods
• Licensed Master Plumber preferred or a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Journeyman Plumber working in an industrial or commercial setting

Responsibilities

• Perform variety of skilled work demanding a high degree of manual and technical competency for the installation of mechanical services (plumbing systems) to industrial equipment
• Locate and identify mechanical malfunctions using test equipment and observing functions
• Repair malfunctions using various methods (replacement of defective components, replacement systems, etc.)
• Test plumbing systems such as piping, valves and fittings for safety and efficiency
• Install high purity (PFA, PVDF & UHP SS) piping, valves, fittings for safety and efficiency
• Inspect plumbing systems
• Make material take offs for plumbing system installations
• Complete other duties that may be assigned
