Facilities Maintenance Person
About The Position
The Facilities Maintenance Person at EastView at Middlebury works in a close-knit community where their efforts will be rewarded every day by the gratitude of the most appreciative residents in town! The Facilities Maintenance Person performs a variety of general maintenance services throughout the EastView campus that includes interior and exterior areas. You will be a part of the Maintenance Team that performs a variety of tasks including: Building renovations and unit preparation including painting, construction, and remodeling Preventive maintenance 24/7 emergency response on a rotating, on-call basis Technical work under the general supervision of the Facilities Manager. We are looking for someone hard-working and eager to learn, or an experienced handy person ready to contribute their experience and skills to our community. Pay is based on experience. The ideal candidate should have the ability to: Operate power tools in a safe manner. Operate landscaping equipment including tractors, snow blowers, mowing equipment, snowplows, chain saws, trimmers, chippers and all types of hand tools relating to landscape work. Multi-task while displaying calm rational thinking and good decision-making. Problem solve challenging or difficult maintenance issues. Interact in a calm, courteous manner with residents, other departments and outside vendors. Work independently with minimal supervision. Communicate with residents to ensure that services match expectations. A clean and valid driver's license is required.
Requirements

- Moving between locations with variation in temperature/weather conditions throughout the working day.
- Lifting, pushing or pulling up to 50 pounds and continuous walking, stretching, bending, twisting, and lifting motions.
