A Day in the Life of a Facilities Maintenance Intern at GLE GLE is seeking an intern to assist with day-to-day maintenance tasks while shadowing our Facilities Maintenance Technicians in their daily activities. You'll gain firsthand exposure to how our team inspects, maintains, and repairs building systems to ensure a safe and clean work environment. A key focus of this internship will be supporting the implementation of a new facilities maintenance software platform. Working closely with your supervisor, you'll help identify, inventory, catalogue, and record facility-related assets within the system. You'll also assist in developing preventative maintenance schedules to ensure equipment and building systems are properly maintained for long-term reliability. In addition, you'll support routine maintenance and custodial tasks, light repairs, grounds upkeep, and event setup/breakdown-gaining well-rounded, hands-on experience in facilities operations. Who You Are You're currently enrolled in a trade, technical, or related college program (facilities maintenance, construction trades, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, engineering technology, or similar) and eager to apply your skills in a real-world setting. You enjoy hands-on work, communicate clearly, and take safety seriously. You're organized, service-oriented, and willing to learn. You can troubleshoot problems, use hand and power tools responsibly, follow safe lifting practices, and manage your time effectively. You also hold a valid Michigan driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
