GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: This position reports to the Facilities function with maintenance and support duties. This is a safety-sensitive position in the Public Works Department, functioning as a provider of services in performing a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks in the maintenance and repair of the City's Facilities. When assigned by the Facility Manager, individual in this position will also assist other maintenance sections of the Public Works Department. Facilities Maintenance Coordinator is a position that will act as the lead with facility operations and repairs as needed and requested by the Facility Manager.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of tools, techniques, and best practices used in performing facility maintenance functions and applicable safety procedures.
  • Knowledge of the complex electrical, plumbing, HVAC, systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively, including responding appropriately to complaints.
  • Ability to troubleshoot many types of facility systems.
  • Ability to read, understand, analyze and interpret a variety of reference materials furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form, including manuals, technical documentation, and user guides.
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to follow written and oral directions.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push and/or pull items weighing up to 100lbs
  • Ability to perform activities that require considerable muscular exertion and/or physical strain, as well as continuous mental and/or visual demand where duties are potentially hazardous and require continuous alertness and/or activity.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes overtime and to work an on-call schedule which requires after-hours response.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of personnel and visitors of the City of Lone Tree.
  • Must have the ability to operate a variety of standard office equipment, e.g. copier, fax machine and personal computer.
  • Demonstrated personal effectiveness, credibility, thoroughness, flexibility, and collaboration skills in adhering to and advancing the City's vision, mission and values and ethical standards.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid Colorado Driver's License (Class R) and a good driving history required.
  • 5 + years of facility maintenance experience or substantially equivalent positions with other public agencies or private contractors.
  • Must satisfactorily complete a criminal background check and driving record check prior to commencing employment.
  • Must be able to obtain CJIS Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Following standard operating procedures, installs, inspects, repairs, and performs preventative maintenance to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management systems.
  • Performs miscellaneous facility projects, including painting, drywall, carpentry, installation of fixtures, and moving furniture or materials within the facility.
  • Utilizes a work order system and will be asked to assist trades contractors to complete projects or complex repairs.
  • Assists with snow removal operations as needed in winter months.
  • Monitors supply inventories and will replenish stock to maintain adequate levels to meet operational needs.
  • Conducts preventive maintenance inspections and performs routine maintenance of city facilities.
  • Investigates and responds to requests regarding facilities issues and repairs.
  • Maintains record of daily work events through the work order and asset management system.
  • Maintains an accurate inventory of maintenance and custodial supplies in each facility
  • Perform or coordinates emergency and after-hours repair operations.
  • Provides facility manager with status reports on projects and tasks assigned.
  • Services and maintains assigned fleet vehicle and makes minor mechanical adjustments and repairs on related vehicles such as checking/servicing fuel, oil and coolant levels; tire pressure and general appearance; takes necessary steps to bring vehicle up to operating standards; prepares and maintains usage records.
  • Complies with and ensures compliance with all organizational values, policies, procedures, and all verbal and written instructions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
