About The Position

The Facilities Coordinator will oversee facilities & maintenance, along with assisting with fleet management for the Youth Resource Center, a drop-in resource center and emergency shelter for youth aged 18-22. Ensure the cleanliness of the interior of the building and the grounds, safety, and functionality of the facility and of all vehicles. Supervise the completion of contracted maintenance services.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED and 1 year of related experience or any combination of education, experience, and training which provides the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; attention to detail.
  • Considers alternatives and consequences before making independent decisions.
  • Remains calm and responds appropriately in crises.
  • Flexibility to respond to changes.
  • Organize, prioritize, and independently complete multiple tasks.
  • Ability to uphold professional boundaries, confidentiality regulations, agency policies and procedures, and interact in a professional manner with a diverse workforce, clients, and the public.
  • Willingness to accept supervision and direction.
  • Become CPR and First Aid Certified.
  • Driving required: must be at least 21 years of age, possess a current driver’s license, have a good driving record, and be insurable on the agency liability policy.
  • Must be able to pass Utah-DHHS – Office of Licensing background screening and pre-employment drug screen.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs.
  • Ability to move around the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee facility maintenance and cleanliness needs. This includes twice a day (early morning hours and mid to late afternoon) picking up trash on the property grounds and entryway. Follow a checklist related to this duty.
  • Work with current contracted janitorial services.
  • Oversee vehicle maintenance, ensuring cleanliness and operability. Check for current registration decals and up-to-date insurance cards in the vehicles.
  • Order facility supplies and maintain an inventory of supplies.
  • Perform minor maintenance repairs (plunging toilets, replacing lights, fixing sprinkler heads, minor painting) and assist with janitorial duties as needed in between scheduled cleaning by the contracted cleaners.
  • Provide timely communication to leadership on operations and facility issues. Assess and recommend priorities for improving facilities operations and execute in a manner that ensures continuity of service.
  • Possess knowledge of the Safety and Security Plans at the Youth Resource Center, including fire and other required drills and inspections.
  • Schedule and conduct routine fire drills and inspections.
  • Attend work as scheduled and arrive at the designated time.
  • Work will be performed on-site.
  • Maintain positive interactions and professional boundaries with Youth Resource Center clients.
  • Maintain positive collaboration and professional interactions with other VOA employees, community partners, and vendors.
  • Participate in various meetings and trainings as requested, including the monthly Facilities Coordinators’ meetings.
  • Perform other functions as necessary or assigned.
