Facilities Maintenance Associate
About The Position
Asphalt Green is looking to hire a skilled Maintenance Associate for our Battery Park City location (212 North End Avenue in Lower Manhattan). The Battery Park City site is 52,000SF and includes two indoor pools, a fitness center, a theater, a teaching kitchen and multiple classrooms. Qualified candidates will have hands-on experience with commercial and/or residential facility spaces and equipment – both on-going maintenance and repairs. Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical repairs required. Familiarity with care and running of indoor swimming pools is a big plus. The work schedule is as follows: Sunday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM Monday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM Tuesday: Off Wednesday: Off Thursday: 1:00 PM – 8:00 PM Friday: 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM Saturday: 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM Note that unfortunately there is no negotiation on the schedule.
Requirements
- Experience using commercial building tools, equipment, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, work in confined/elevated spaces, and remain on feet for extended periods.
- Proficient in documenting and communicating maintenance activities clearly and accurately.
- Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical repairs required.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) is a plus.
- Familiarity with care and running of indoor swimming pools is a big plus.
- Willingness to obtain certified pool operator’s license within 30 days of hire
